Our Specialties

Chronic Pain

Treatment of chronic pain after hernia repair can be complicated. But it can be treated.

Mesh Complications

We treat mesh-related pain, mesh-reactions, and mesh infections.

Laparoscopic & Robotic

In many cases, laparoscopic or robotic-assisted techniques can provide improved outcome and recovery. Most of our repairs use this technology.

Non-Mesh Repairs

Not all patients benefit from mesh repair. We believe in non-mesh tissue repair for many women, thin, and some younger patients.

Awesome @SAGES_Updates session this afternoon-HERnia: Gender Based Differences in Hernia Management! Especially the presentation from my future partner @VNikolian. He’s doing important and eye opening work for our transgender patients with hernias @OHSUsurgery

Delighted to wrap up #SAGES2024 with a great HERnias session. We discussed hernia care for women and gender diverse populations. Biggest takeaway: we have a lot to figure out to provide better care for patients. Thank you @Herniadoc & @DukeHernia for the invite.

If you’re still here #SAGES2024, PLEASE come to the HERnia session at noon, Grand Ballroom C.

Every surgeon must learn that females are different than males

We will discuss differences in
- Anatomy
- History
- Examination
- Management
- Surgical approach
... - Outcomes

Also, we

@Herniadoc @McFarlinKellie @LakersNation @SAGES_Updates Passed you this morning with your jersey & jacket this morning…love them!

Glad to see attendings rocking their casual wear too!!

Traumatic hernias as not easy to manage or treat. Most surgeons are unfamiliar with how to handle them.

@JJcolemanMD reviews her experience as a trauma surgeon and reviews where is the evidence. These are difficult to treat with 12-25% recurrence rate with the first treatment.
